The competition started out great. There were some interesting solutions coming in and it was shaping up nicely. Then Sendai dropped in his "Underwhelm" solution at 1062. I realised at that point that the competition was likely going to end in a tie. I had playtested the level but like everyone else up to that point of the competition I hadn't tested the most obvious swing of them all.
Then on the second day Mark changed his approach, he found the simple swing but did things a little differently to match the 1062 score. I was briefly happy because I realised mark had missed a trick and 1072 was easily possible. A little later mark saw the same tweak and then the board started talking swings and ioncorpse came in with the easy 1072 also.
Make sure you take a look at Unw's 1060. It is by far the most interesting and skillful solution of the lot and such a shame it couldn't take the prize.
