Help with Roller Coaster Tycoon 3

Postby scimaster » Sun Sep 30, 2007 3:51 am

I really need help with this game!
When I stat it from my hard drive, it goes to a black square and then a message pops up stating that it "has encountered a problem and needs to close" I have tried re-installing it many times with the same resut, I even copied the entire program from computer that it ran on onto my PC, still the same thing. Then I run it from the CD that I made of the file and lo and behold it worked, though the loading times were a bit insane. PLEASE HELP!
Code: Select all
ww@localhost:echo $name

"\  /\  /  /\   |--  |--  |=   |\  |"
" \/  \/  /- \  |    |    |--  |  \|"

Done

there seems to be a general theme with these messages, so I hunted around and hopefully found a few things that could make it work.

"Generally, this error occurs when Windows is low on available memory or resources and has become unstable."
i.e. reboot to clear memory or close some programs

"disable the hardware acceleration."

"Start/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Display/ Settings/ Advanced/ Troubleshoot.
I would suggest sliding just one notch at a time and try [it] instead of completely disabling it at first."

even with max recources at its disposal, RCT3 may be having a hard time drawing and loading and thinking and such.

Hope that might help.

Anyway, your avatar died.
and also:

Sign up for the first AR Tournament!!

Please?

sigh, what a shameless plug...

what's that little comment suppost to mean?

And I've tried all the options for hardware acceleration. Any other suggestions? Anyone?

There needed to be just a couple more contestants for the tournament so I added a "product plug" at the bottom shamelessly :D
