I can do a VERY VERY simple QBasic thing...
In an ideal world, where anything and everything is in perfect form, is there a perfect form of imperfection?

Work THAT one out! :)

I did it a few years back for an IT project at school; it made the date flash and dance around the screen...

lol I did QBasic in middle school. I loved QBasic XD! Such a fun language.

I did VB in high school but now if i program it's usually javascript, php or C
(If i wasn't forced to take C classes for my engineering major I'd never touch the awful language)

C++ is different but simmilar to C. Visual C is also like this
Code: Select all
ww@localhost:echo $name

"\  /\  /  /\   |--  |--  |=   |\  |"
" \/  \/  /- \  |    |    |--  |  \|"

Done

And why do you think C is awful, Ike? I program in C++ for about 2 years and now I think VB and PASCAL are hard. I guess it's a matter of taste

Anyway, all you need for hacking is assembly 8)

I think taking a class in a language rather than developing a liking for it on my own time really really really takes the fun out of the language. VB i learned on my own and I loved how easy it was. If i recall correctly (It's been some time since i've used VB) It almost writes itself. When you start a command it brings up a display for the rest of the syntax. I've seen text editors that do this for php. I'd imagine that'd be super useful.
