ARF C XXIII Contest (From now till 09.09 19:00 GMT)

Postby Cresta » Sun Sep 02, 2007 9:26 am

Welcome to 23rd C contest: Value For Money! :D

This is fundamentally a speed contest (yes, another one!)
The difference is that not only speed counts:
I really want to see who can solve a level fastly and cheaply

How to calculate your score:

1. Complete the level
2. Look at money left
3. Look at the number indicated by the "time machine" (at the bottom of the lvl)
4. Multiply [money left] * [time machine number] = YOUR SCORE (going from 0 to 100000)

Obviously best score wins
Enjoy the ride!!

(Hope it won't lag to anybody)

Naming convention is:
[Score]-[YourForumName]-[SolutionName]

Example:
99999-Me-Mine

For the time machine number, say the level finishes and its halfway between what was 20 and the 19, which number do you go by?
In an ideal world, where anything and everything is in perfect form, is there a perfect form of imperfection?

Work THAT one out! :)

0+L

I'm serious! 8)

EDIT: 55k+L

My solution could be considered 2 different scores...

The timer stops a 14.5, but the sim goes to just after the 15.05 timer breaks. Which should I go by?

It is very important question Cresta! pliz answer it!
/*I've the same problem to decide between 18 or 17 :(
if it is 17 anyway - solution is much $ cheaper, as I dont have to hurry, and if it is 18, result is bigger even if I spend a bit money to harry dillo.*/

When the simulation ends, and the WHOLE sistem (time machine included) stops, you look at the number indicated from the time machine, the first existing wall determines your score.

Aha! so we can put extra walls in front of the time machine that never break so we can have scores well over 100,000! I love this league!

Thanks

It is not really important what are the rools. It's really important to be having a single meaning rules. Thank u, Cresta.
