Level 24 - Void 8

Postby Purgetroy » Tue Jun 13, 2006 1:50 pm

It must be very simple considering the little money, small area and the only two fixed joints, but dammit it's been a bit more than a week and I'm still stuck on this one. Any help?

Use compressed rubber. It doesn't need to be attached to anything.

Hi FFT, one peice of rubber costs 100 and compressing it is another 100. That leaves 50. Can be more specific pleeeeaaaaaaase? Thanks in advance mate!

no need for the rubber, I managed it with metal bars and some bits of cloth, the hint is I used only one of the anchor points, the one closer to the `dillo.
Ive seen some very ingenious solutions to this one, mine was fairly simple, just need to line things up right (Im trying my best to not just tell you outright :) )

Fair play for not going straight for the solutions page :D

Hint: you don't need an anchor point to make a rubber cannon. place the rubber and compress it. It will fall as soon asyou press start but it will hit the 'Dillo first and move it according to where you placed the rubber cannon.

See if that gets you further. As a note, using compressed rubber is not the cheapest way to do this level. There are many other methods that will work. Remember, you always have GPE to work with.

I think they are suggesting using some kind of mechanism which 'swivels' on one of the pivot points to lift the armadillo up.

I made an uphill ramp and kinda whacked the armadillo up with a 'croquet mallet' as per earlier levels but this costs about as much as the rubber solution

This is my solution, could someone post the solution with the rubber involved? I don't quite get the picture of that.

I just used a simple see saw. Pivot around the closest anchor point, make the right hand side heavier and add a small bar or plate on the second anchor point to stop the see saw once it's rotated enough.
